Recycling
The municipality is proud to offer its’ residents bi-weekly, curbside recycling collection every other Friday and a depot system located at the Landfill. Residents are encouraged to divert waste from the landfill by recycling all acceptable items.
Acceptable Recyclable materials include:
- Cardboard (flatten/remove plastic)
- Newspaper, magazines, catalogues, books
- Household paper
- Plastic bottles, tubs, pails, trays and foam packaging
- Plastic bags
- Clear and coloured glass jars and bottles
- Milk and juice containers
- Egg cartons
- Aluminum and steel cans, foil, pie plates and trays
- Empty paint cans and aerosol cans (empty/dry and lids removed)
- Cardboard
acceptable plastics include No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4, No. 5, No. 6 and No. 7.
Materials NOT acceptable:
- Used paper plates
- Diapers
- Liquids
- Toys
- Facial and toilet tissue
- Food scraps
- Tires
- Propane Cylinders
- Lightbulbs
- Batteries
- Branches and grass trimmings
